THANKS TO ANDREY MARTYNOV, THE CURATOR, OUR GROUP EXHIBITION WAS REALIZED IN THE LARGEST CONTEMPORARY ART MUSEUM IN RUSSIA.

Many historical buildings are left in St. Petersburg, the capital of the Russian Empire. ERARTA Museum of Contemporary Art is located in such a beautiful city. As the contemporary art’s hall of fame in Russia, the museum has tried to find and collect contemporary artworks, do research and aim to spread them globally. The name, ERARTA is the combination of the two words “Era” and “Arta”, which shows “era of the art”. They have supported not only the great masters but also newly artists with lots of talents. The museum also has a role as an international gallery. They sell living artists’ artworks and support them financially.
The meaning of having a photo exhibition in the coronavirus pandemic
Andrey Martinov, a well-known curator, (right) made great efforts to open our group photo exhibition this time.
We couldn’t go to Russia because of the pandemic, and Andrey helped and worked hard for us. We keenly felt the importance of the relationship of trust that we have built together.
In the coronavirus pandemic, it wasn’t easy to send our artworks to Russia. Staff in Erarta Museum did their job carefully and professionally.
We couldn’t attend the opening ceremony, but we were glad to know that many people in Russia came to see our exhibition.
SAMURAI FOTO landscape photography exhibition brings together the artworks by six Japanese photographers ̶ Shigeru Yoshida, Hiroaki Hasumi, Hiroshi Harada, Kouji Sasaki, Motoko Sato ̶ and Everett Kennedy Brown, an American photographer residing in Japan.
The title of the exhibition is “SAMURAI FOTO. Masters of Contemporary japanese Photography”.

There were also questions with illustrations on the board. Visitors tried to guess the name of the tree by its leaves, flowers and berries. It was unique to the biology museum that all the generations could learn with enjoyment.
