Activity in Novosobirsk, Russia

I greatly appreciated Prof. Dina Sin and Andrey Martynov supporting and helping us during our stay.

I showed a short movie of my artwork. As I had been inspired by a feeling of owe when I saw victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011 praying toward the sea, I decided to start the project.

The city has established a sister-city relationship with Sapporo, Hokkaido. There is a Hokkaido Cultural Center. It snowed on the second day of our trip. They said it rarely happened in April. It was so cold but it made our trip memorable. We participated in the International Festival of Design “Krasny Prospect” in NSUADA.

NSUADA recently has many women students. And many of them came to hear our lectures. I was impressed with their enthusiasms.

With the support of the university, I gave lectures about photography and held the Portfolio walk during the festival. Portfolio walk in Nsuada 1:20PM-2:45PM APRIL 17TH

My artworks were printed on the glass plates. I used classical techniques for my photography. My photographs of Japanese festival with men wearing masks were very popular there. People might have been fascinated by the mysterious world of Yokai.

It is common to get some interviews from TV crews in the international festival and solo exhibition in abroad. A lot of TV media in Novosibirsk are getting data for their TV program.

I really appriciate the rector of NSUADA and Samurai-Foto member. We could join the international festival in Novosibirsk. I and the rector of NSUADA signed a memorandum as a future of a proof of goodwill.

I had helped us almost everything during our stay by a lot of volunteer.

Andrey led the talk show. We discussed the differences of the photography between Japan and overseas.

On the evening of the first day for public, we had a talk show. More people came than the former day. We felt their deep interests into arts of this city.
